Kafatos resigns ERC Presidency in mid-term

The outgoing European Research Council president Fotis Kafatos.

Fotis Kafatos has resigned as President of the European Research Council and Chairman of its Scientific Council, and will be stepping down as of 1 March 2010.

At the same time the ERC is now acting on the advice of a review last year, and recruiting a new director to merge the roles of Secretary General and Director of the executive arm of the organisation.
